Integrator complex subunit 9

RC-74, int9
This gene encodes a subunit of the Integrator complex. This protein complex binds the C-terminal domain of RNA polymerase II and likely plays a role in small nuclear RNA processing. The encoded protein has similarities to the subunits of the cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor complex. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010] (from NCBI)

snRNA 3' end formation requires heterodimeric association of integrator subunits.
Wagner et al., Houston, United States. In Mol Cell Biol, 2012
The specific heterodimeric interaction between IntS9 and IntS11 is mediated by a discrete domain present at the extreme C terminus of IntS9 and within the C terminus of IntS11, adjacent to the predicted active site of this endonuclease.

RECENT LITERATURE DATA: When samples of parasites were genotyped by novel nuclear marker Pm-int9, it was shown various properties of Opisthorchis viverrini, O. felineus and C. sinensis.
A novel nuclear marker, Pm-int9, for phylogenetic studies of Opisthorchis felineus, Opisthorchis viverrini, and Clonorchis sinensis (Opisthorchiidae, Trematoda).

We developed a novel nuclear marker, Pm-int9, which included the ninth intron of the paramyosin gene and flanking exon sequences.
The 73 kDa subunit of the CPSF complex binds to the HIV-1 LTR promoter and functions as a negative regulatory factor that is inhibited by the HIV-1 Tat protein.
Calzado et al., Córdoba, Spain. In J Mol Biol, 2007
Similar results were found with over-expression of the CPSF-73 homologue RC-68, but not with CPSF 100 kDa subunit (CPSF-100) and RC-74.

A CPSF-73 homologue is required for cell cycle progression but not cell growth and interacts with a protein having features of CPSF-100.
Marzluff et al., Chapel Hill, United States. In Mol Cell Biol, 2005
Here we describe two previously unknown human proteins, designated RC-68 and RC-74, which are related to CPSF-73 and CPSF-100 and which form a complex in HeLa and mouse cells.
