Combined expressional analysis, bioinformatics and targeted proteomics identify new potential therapeutic targets in glioblastoma stem cells.
Langmoen et al., Oslo, Norway. In Oncotarget, Oct 2015
Bioinformatic filtering identified 20 genes (PBK/TOPK, CENPA, KIF15, DEPDC1, CDC6, DLG7/DLGAP5/HURP, KIF18A, EZH2, HMMR/RHAMM/CD168, NOL4, MPP6, MDM1, RAPGEF4, RHBDD1, FNDC3B, FILIP1L, MCC, ATXN7L4/ATXN7L1, P2RY5/LPAR6 and FAM118A) that were consistently expressed in GSC cultures and consistently not expressed in NSC cultures.
Expression of cdk4 and p16 in Oral Lichen Planus.
Gupta et al., New Delhi, India. In J Oral Maxillofac Res, Apr 2015
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Analysis of cdk4 and p16 expression was done in 43 erosive oral lichen planus (EOLP) and 17 non-erosive oral lichen planus (NOLP) cases, 10 normal mucosa and 10 oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) cases with immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: This study demonstrated a significantly increased expression of cytoplasmic cdk4 (80% cases, cells stained - 19.6%), and cytoplasmic p16 (68.3% cases, cells stained - 16.4%) in oral lichen planus (OLP) compared to normal mucosa.
Nanowire analysis of cancer-testis antigens as biomarkers of aggressive prostate cancer.
Getzenberg et al., Baltimore, United States. In Urology, Mar 2015
RESULTS: Using a nanowire-based assay, ribonucleic acid (RNA) expression levels of the CTAs CSAG2 and NOL4 were found to be significantly higher in men with Gleason score (GS) 8-10 disease than those with GS ≤4+3 disease.
The distribution and evolution of Arabidopsis thaliana cis natural antisense transcripts.
Harrison et al., Montréal, Canada. In Bmc Genomics, 2014
We found significant NOLP sequence conservation for 28-34% NATs across different cis-NAT sets.
Splicing variants of NOL4 differentially regulate the transcription activity of Mlr1 and Mlr2 in cultured cells.
Kubo et al., Tokyo, Japan. In Zoolog Sci, 2014
We identified nucleolar protein 4 (NOL4) splicing variants as major interaction partners for both Mlr1 and Mlr2.
Validation of nucleolar protein 4 as a novel methylated tumor suppressor gene in head and neck cancer.
Califano et al., İstanbul, Turkey. In Oncol Rep, 2014
In the present study, we assessed the association of epigenetic alterations of a panel of 12 genes [nucleolar protein 4 (NOL4), iroquois homeobox 1 (IRX1), SLC5A8, LRRC3B, FUSSEL18, EBF3, GBX2, HMX2, SEPT9, ALX3, SOCS3 and LHX6] with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) via a candidate gene approach.
Analyses of porcine public SNPs in coding-gene regions by re-sequencing and phenotypic association studies.
Kim et al., Ch'ŏngju, South Korea. In Mol Biol Rep, 2011
A large number of genes that function as enzymes, transcription factors or signalling molecules were considered as genetic markers for pig growth (RNF103, TSPAN31, DHX38, ABCF1, ABCC10, SCD5, KIAA0999 and FKBP10), muscling (HSPA5, PTPRM, NUP88, ADCK4, PLOD1, DLX1 and GRM8), fatness (PTGIS, IDH3B, RYR2 and NOL4) and meat quality traits (DUSP4, LIFR, NGEF, EWSR1, ACTN2, PLXND1, DLX3, LGALS9, ENO3, EPRS, TRIM29, EHMT2, RBM42, SESN2 and RAB4B).
Identification of novel methylation markers in cervical cancer using restriction landmark genomic scanning.
Sherman et al., Rockville, United States. In Cancer Res, 2008
Of the confirmed markers frequently methylated, we developed Methylight assays for two corresponding genes, nucleolar protein 4 (NOL4), and lipoma HMGIC fusion partner-like protein 4 (LHFPL4), which were methylated in 85% and 55% of cancers, respectively.
NOLP: identification of a novel human nucleolar protein and determination of sequence requirements for its nucleolar localization.
Muramatsu et al., Kisarazu, Japan. In Biochem Biophys Res Commun, 1998
This study reports cDNA isolation and partial characterization of a novel human nucleolar protein isolated by "nuclear transportation trap" described previously.
