NLR family, pyrin domain containing 12

Monarch, RNO, RNO2, Monarch-1
This gene encodes a member of the CATERPILLER family of cytoplasmic proteins. The encoded protein, which contains an N-terminal pyrin domain, a NACHT domain, a NACHT-associated domain, and a C-terminus leucine-rich repeat region, functions as an attenuating factor of inflammation by suppressing inflammatory responses in activated monocytes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described but the full-length nature of some of these has not been determined. The aim of this study was to analyze the insecticide content, contact toxicity, laundering resistance, and residual activity of five commercially available and commonly used permethrin-treated fabrics-Insect Shield, ExOfficio, Sol's Monarch T-shirts, battle dress uniforms (BDUs), and Labonal socks-against vector-competent Aedes aegypti, Anopheles stephensi, and Culex pipiens mosquitoes under laboratory conditions.
Roflumilast inhibits leukocyte-platelet interactions and prevents the prothrombotic functions of polymorphonuclear leukocytes and monocytes.
Evangelista et al., Italy. In J Thromb Haemost, Jan 2016
Objectives We tested the hypothesis that roflumilast N-oxide (RNO), the active metabolite of roflumilast, curbs the molecular mechanisms required for leukocyte-platelet (PLT) interactions and prevents the prothrombotic functions of polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) and monocytes (MNs).
The effect of cations on NO2 production from the photolysis of aqueous thin water films of nitrate salts.
Finlayson-Pitts et al., Irvine, United States. In Phys Chem Chem Phys, Jan 2016
The nitrate salts fall into three groups based on their observed rate of NO2 formation (RNO2): (1) RbNO3 and KNO3, which readily produce NO2 (RNO2 > 3 ppb min(-1)), (2) Ca(NO3)2, which produces NO2 more slowly (RNO2 < 1 ppb min(-1)), and (3) Mg(NO3)2 and NaNO3, which lie between the other two groups.
