Component of oligomeric golgi complex 2

This gene encodes a subunit of the conserved oligomeric Golgi complex that is required for maintaining normal structure and activity of the Golgi complex. The encoded protein specifically interacts with the USO1 vesicle docking protein and may be necessary for normal Golgi ribbon formation and trafficking of Golgi enzymes. Mutations of this gene are associated with abnormal glycosylation within the Golgi apparatus. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009] (from NCBI)

Effect of mevalonic acid on cholesterol synthesis in bovine intramuscular and subcutaneous adipocytes.
Liu et al., China. In J Appl Genet, Jul 2015
The morphology of lipid accumulation of bovine preadipocytes was detected by Oil Red O staining, and total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDLC), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDLC) levels were measured.
Relationship between testosterone, estradiol and circulating PCSK9: Cross-sectional and interventional studies in humans.
Mayne et al., Ottawa, Canada. In Clin Chim Acta, Jul 2015
RESULTS: In men, (1) serum T does not correlate with circulating PCSK9 or with LDLC in the basal state, (2) T replacement therapy does not have any effect on circulating PCSK9, and (3) T ablation therapy has mixed results.
LOX-1 in atherosclerotic disease.
Okamura et al., Matsumoto, Japan. In Clin Chim Acta, Mar 2015
We hypothesized that LOX-1 is a candidate risk factor beyond LDL cholesterol (LDLC) and developed a novel assay to quantify LOX-1 ligand containing apoB (LAB).

Skrzypczak et al., In Pol J Vet Sci, 2014
Animals fed milk had a greater concentration of TC, HDLC and LDLC.
Lipoproteins, stroke and statins.
Pende et al., Genova, Italy. In Curr Vasc Pharmacol, 2014
In this review, we want to point out the role of the different lipoproteins, such as triglycerides, HDL-C, LDLC, Lp(a), in the pathogenesis of stroke and the role of statins in reducing both lipid fractions and stroke risk.
Influence of dietary nicotinic acid supplementation on lipid metabolism and related gene expression in two distinct broiler breeds of female chickens.
Wen et al., In J Anim Physiol Anim Nutr (berl), 2014
Arbor Acres broilers had thickness of subcutaneous fat plus the skin (SFS), and plasma concentration of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDLC) and lower percentage of abdominal fat (PAF), plasma concentrations of TG, NEFA and adiponectin than the BJY line.

Krauss et al., In Genome Biol, 2013
BACKGROUND: Statins are widely prescribed for lowering LDL-cholesterol (LDLC) levels and risk of cardiovascular disease.
