Potassium voltage-gated channel, subfamily F, member 1

KH1, Ik-8, KCNF1
Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume. This gene encodes a member of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, subfamily F. This gene is intronless and expressed in all tissues tested, including the heart, skeletal muscle, brain, kidney, and pancreas. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] (from NCBI)

Evaluation of distribution and sources of sewage molecular marker (LABs) in selected rivers and estuaries of Peninsular Malaysia.
Latif et al., Kuala Selangor, Malaysia. In Environ Sci Pollut Res Int, Dec 2015
The LABs ratio of internal to external isomers (I/E) in this study ranged from 0.56 at KH1 (upstream of Kedah River) to 1.35 at MK3 (Merbok Estuary) indicating that the rivers receive raw sewage and primary treatment effluents in the study area.
Bongkrekic acid analogue, lacking one of the carboxylic groups of its parent compound, shows moderate but pH-insensitive inhibitory effects on the mitochondrial ADP/ATP carrier.
Shinohara et al., Suzuka, Japan. In Chem Biol Drug Des, Nov 2015
Rough screening of these chemicals, performed by measuring their inhibitory effects on the mitochondrial ATP synthesis, revealed that 4 of them, KH-1, KH-7, KH-16, and KH-17, had moderate inhibitory effects.
(1)H, (15)N and (13)C backbone resonance assignments of the N-terminal, tandem KH domains of human hnRNP E1.
Hennig et al., Charleston, United States. In Biomol Nmr Assign, Oct 2015
Our NMR assignments lay the foundation for a detailed investigation of the dynamic cooperation of the tandem KH1 and KH2 domains to bind nucleic acids.
[Segment Cloning and Expression of Human VIGILIN Gene].
Qin et al., In Sichuan Da Xue Xue Bao Yi Xue Ban, Sep 2015
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the mechanisms of interaction between high-density lipoprotein binding protein (HDLBP)-VIGILIN with other proteins, we cloned VIGILIN cDNA N, KH1-7, KH8-12, KH13-14, and C fragments separately into expression vector, and identify the expressed proteins.
Expression of Ik6 and Ik8 Isoforms and Their Association with Relapse and Death in Mexican Children with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Pérez-Vera et al., Mexico. In Plos One, 2014
The aim of this study was to know the frequency of Ik6 and Ik8 in 113 Mexican ALL-children treated within the National Popular Medical Insurance Program to determine whether there was an association with relapse-free survival, event-free survival and overall survival, and to assess its usefulness in the initial stratification of patients.
Interaction between ribosome assembly factors Krr1 and Faf1 is essential for formation of small ribosomal subunit in yeast.
Ye et al., Beijing, China. In J Biol Chem, 2014
The structure reveals that Krr1 consists of two packed K homology (KH) domains, KH1 and KH2, and resembles archaeal Dim2-like proteins.
Biophysical and biochemical analysis of hnRNP K: arginine methylation, reversible aggregation and combinatorial binding to nucleic acids.
Ostareck et al., In Biol Chem, 2014
Quantitative evaluation indicated that all hnRNP K homology domains of hnRNP K contribute differentially to RNA binding, with KH1-KH2 acting as a tandem domain and KH3 as an individual binding domain.
Evolutionary analysis of voltage-gated potassium channels by Bayes method.
Ye et al., Nanning, China. In J Mol Neurosci, 2014
Our assumptions are as follows: (a) KCNH subfamily is likely the most original subfamily in alpha subunit; (b) VGPCs are related to neural and cardiac systems at the earliest time; (c) KCNA4 and KCNF1 may be as ancestors; (d) abnormality in one gene may cause both cardiac and neural diseases; and (e) abnormalities in KCNH6 and KCNQ7 are more likely to cause cardiac diseases.
Effect of stereochemistry, chain length and sequence pattern on antimicrobial properties of short synthetic β-sheet forming peptide amphiphiles.
Yang et al., Singapore, Singapore. In Biomaterials, 2014
In efforts to investigate the effects of key parameters including stereochemistry, chain length and sequence pattern on antimicrobial effects, systematic d-amino acid substitutions of the lead peptides (IRIK)2-NH2 (IK8-all L) and (IRVK)3-NH2 (IK12-all L) were performed.
