F-box protein 42

Members of the F-box protein family, such as FBXO42, are characterized by an approximately 40-amino acid F-box motif. SCF complexes, formed by SKP1 (SKP1A; MIM 601434), cullin (see CUL1; MIM 603134), and F-box proteins, act as protein-ubiquitin ligases. F-box proteins interact with SKP1 through the F box, and they interact with ubiquitination targets through other protein interaction domains (Jin et al., 2004 [PubMed 15520277]).[supplied by OMIM, Dec 2010] (from NCBI)

Papers on JFK
SCF(JFK) is a bona fide E3 ligase for ING4 and a potent promoter of the angiogenesis and metastasis of breast cancer.
Shang et al., Beijing, China. In Genes Dev, Apr 2015
Here, we report that ING4 is physically associated with JFK.
Impaired consciousness in partial seizures is bimodally distributed.
Blumenfeld et al., New Haven, United States. In Neurology, 2014
Results were compared with responsiveness scores in a cohort of patients with severe traumatic brain injury evaluated with the JFK Coma Recovery Scale-Revised (n = 552 test administrations, 184 patients).
Substrate phosphorylation and feedback regulation in JFK-promoted p53 destabilization.
Shang et al., Beijing, China. In J Biol Chem, 2011
Substrate phosphorylation and feedback regulation in JFK-promoted p53 destabilization.
The efficacy of routine hyperventilation for seizure activation during prolonged video-electroencephalography monitoring.
Wambacq et al., Edison, United States. In J Clin Neurosci, 2010
We retrospectively reviewed the records of all patients admitted to JFK Hospital, Edison, New Jersey, between October 2001 and December 2004 for long-term video-electroencephalography (EEG).
JFK, a Kelch domain-containing F-box protein, links the SCF complex to p53 regulation.
Shang et al., Beijing, China. In Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A, 2009
JFK promotes p53 turnover through assembly of an SCF (Skp1-Cul1-F-box) complex, revealing a pathway for the control of p53 degradation and providing a link between the SCF complex and p53 regulation.
SFK-STAT pathway: an alternative and important way to malignancies.
Naoe et al., Nagoya, Japan. In Ann N Y Acad Sci, 2006
STAT is thought to be activated by JAK family kinases (JFK) in many cytokine receptor signal pathways; however, recent studies have demonstrated an alternative pathway to activate STAT by Src family kinases (SFK) in growth factor receptor signal.
