Cyclin-dependent kinase 2 interacting protein

The protein encoded by this gene interacts with CDK2, MCM5, and CDC7, and is associated with the origin recognition complex protein ORC2. It acts as a homodimer and is involved in replication and ATR-mediated checkpoint signaling. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Gene expression profiling on pre- and post-erlotinib tumors from patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
Delord et al., Toulouse, France. In Head Neck, 2013
Finally, the search of pharmacodynamic markers identified cyclin-dependent kinase 2-interacting protein (CINP) as a potential marker of erlotinib efficacy because its expression decreased only in patients who were responders to the treatment.
Efficient herpes simplex virus 1 replication requires cellular ATR pathway proteins.
Weller et al., Farmington, United States. In J Virol, 2013
In fact, we learned that all 10 of the canonical ATR pathway proteins are stable in HSV-infected cells and are recruited to viral replication compartments; furthermore, short hairpin RNA (shRNA) knockdown shows that several, including ATRIP, RPA70, TopBP1, Claspin, and CINP, are required for efficient HSV-1 replication.
