Ring-box 1, E3 ubiquitin protein ligase

Rbx1, ROC1, Hey1, Bcl11b, HRT1
This locus encodes a RING finger-like domain-containing protein. The encoded protein interacts with cullin proteins and likely plays a role in ubiquitination processes necessary for cell cycle progression. This protein may also affect protein turnover. Related pseudogenes exist on chromosomes 2 and 5.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010] (from NCBI)

Transcription Factor Bcl11b Controls Identity and Function of Mature Type 2 Innate Lymphoid Cells.
Avram et al., Albany, United States. In Immunity, Sep 2015
Here, we report that Bcl11b, previously considered a T-cell-specific transcription factor, acted directly upstream of the key ILC2 transcription factor Gfi1 to maintain its expression in mature ILC2s.
