Ankyrin repeat domain 17

NY-BR-16, KIAA0697
This gene encodes a protein with ankyrin repeats, which are associated with protein-protein interactions. Studies in mice suggest that this protein is involved in liver development. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] (from NCBI)

Papers on NY-BR-16
Ankrd17 positively regulates RIG-I-like receptor (RLR)-mediated immune signaling.
GeneRIF
Ye et al., Beijing, China. In Eur J Immunol, 2012
The results indicated that ankrd17 is a positive regulator of the RIG-I signaling pathway. Ankrd17 enhanced the interaction of RIG-I and MDA5 with VISA; the ankyrin repeat domain of ankrd17 is required for its interaction with RIG-I.
The VP1 structural protein of enterovirus 71 interacts with human ornithine decarboxylase and gene trap ankyrin repeat.
Chow et al., Singapore, Singapore. In Microb Pathog, 2007
Using yeast two-hybrid analysis, we demonstrated binding affinity between VP1 and three human proteins, i.e. ornithine decarboxylase (ODC1), gene trap ankyrin repeat (GTAR), and KIAA0697 expressed in brain tissue.
Rapid and sensitive identification of major histocompatibility complex class I-associated tumor peptides by Nano-LC MALDI MS/MS.
Herr et al., Frankfurt am Main, Germany. In Mol Cell Proteomics, 2005
The most promising candidate for a T-cell epitope is an HLA-B7-binding nonamer peptide derived from the tumor-associated gene NY-BR-16.
Gene fusion and overlapping reading frames in the mammalian genes for 4E-BP3 and MASK.
GeneRIF
Sonenberg et al., Montréal, Canada. In J Biol Chem, 2004
there are overlapping reading frames in the mouse and human genes for 4E-BP3 and MASK
