Ring finger protein 41

Nrdp1, RNF41, FLRF, neuregulin receptor degradation protein-1
This gene encodes an E3 ubiquitin ligase. The encoded protein plays a role in type 1 cytokine receptor signaling by controlling the balance between JAK2-associated cytokine receptor degradation and ectodomain shedding. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2011] (from NCBI)

K33-linked polyubiquitination of Zap70 by Nrdp1 controls CD8(+) T cell activation.
Cao et al., Beijing, China. In Nat Immunol, Dec 2015
Here we found that Nrdp1, a ring finger-type E3 ligase, mediated Lys33 (K33)-linked polyubiquitination of the signaling kinase Zap70 and promoted the dephosphorylation of Zap70 by the acidic phosphatase-like proteins Sts1 and Sts2 and thereby terminated early TCR signaling in CD8(+) T cells.

Diabetes Susceptibility Genes Pdx1 and Clec16a Function in a Pathway Regulating Mitophagy in β-Cells.
Stoffers et al., Philadelphia, United States. In Diabetes, Oct 2015
High-throughput expression microarray and chromatin occupancy analyses reveal that Pdx1 regulates the expression of Clec16a, a type 1 diabetes gene and itself a key mediator of mitophagy through regulation of the E3 ubiquitin ligase Nrdp1.

In this study, the molecular characterization and immune response of TBK1 in Larimichthys crocea (named as LcTBK1) as well as its interaction with Nrdp1 were investigated.
MiR-497 promotes metastasis of colorectal cancer cells through Nrdp1 inhibition.
Sun et al., Jinan, China. In Tumour Biol, Sep 2015
We have recently shown that Nrdp1 inhibits phosphorylation of ErB3 in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells, to suppress epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling-stimulated MMP7 activation for CRC metastasis.
