Changes of synapses in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis by using Fasudil.
Datong, China. In Wound Repair Regen, Feb 2016
Neurotrophic factor BDNF and GDNF as well as immunomodulatory cytokine IL-10 in spinal cord were elevated in Fasudil-treated mice, while inflammatory cytokine IL-17, IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-⟨ were obviously inhibited, accompanied by the decrease of inflammatory M1 iNOS and the increase of anti-inflammatory M2 Arg-1, providing a microenvironment that contributes to synaptic protection.
Nitric Oxide-Mediated Posttranslational Modifications: Impacts at the Synapse.
Leicester, United Kingdom. In Oxid Med Cell Longev, Dec 2015
In addition to its involvement in physiological plasticity processes (long-term potentiation, LTP; long-term depression, LTD) which can include NMDAR-mediated calcium-dependent activation of neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS), new insights into physiological and pathological consequences of nitrergic signalling have recently emerged.
Noise-Induced Neural Degeneration and Therapeutic Effect of Antioxidant Drugs.
Kyŏngsan, South Korea. In J Audiol Otol, Dec 2015
Oxidative stress has been identified by a variety of biomarkers to label free radical activity which include four-hydroxy-2-nonenal, nitrotyrosine, and malondialdehyde, and inducible nitric oxide synthase, cytochrome-C, and cascade-3, 8, 9. Furthermore, oxidative stress is contributing to the necrotic and apoptotic cell deaths in the cochlea.

It was shown that in a concentration range of 1-1000 nM the peptide increases the activity of inducible NO-synthase (iNOS), and the content of NO and cGMP in lipopolysaccharide-activated murine peritoneal macrophages.
