Translocase of inner mitochondrial membrane 8 homolog B

DDP2, TIMM8B
This gene encodes a member of a well-conserved family of proteins with similarity to yeast Tim mitochondrial import proteins. This gene is encoded by a nuclear gene and is transported into the intermembrane space of the mitochondrion. When formed into complexes, these proteins guide membrane-spanning proteins across the mitochondrial intermembrane space before they are added into the mitochondrial inner membrane. This gene is adjacent to succinate dehydrogenase, subunit D (SDHD), in which mutations have been found in affected members of families with hereditary paraganglioma.[provided by RefSeq, Aug 2009] (from NCBI)

Chun et al., Chengdu, China. In Int J Biol Macromol, 2009
Three polysaccharide fractions (DDP1-1, DDP2-1 and DDP3-1) were successfully purified from the crude polysaccharide of Dendrobium denneanum by DEAE-Cellulose and Sephadex G-200 column chromatography.
Gene profiling during development and after a peripheral nerve traumatism reveals genes specifically induced by injury in dorsal root ganglia.
Carroll et al., Montpellier, France. In Mol Cell Neurosci, 2006
Focusing on this latter event highlights Ddit3, Timm8b and Oazin as potential new injury-induced molecular actors involved in a stress response pathway.

coli shuttle vector pDXA-3H (6.1 kb), which carries the origin of replication of the Dd high-copy-number plasmid, Ddp2, a high-copy-number E. coli plasmid origin of replication, an act6 promoter driven G418 resistance cassette, the bacterial ampicillin resistance gene and an expression cassette.
Novel mutations in the SDHD gene in pedigrees with familial carotid body paraganglioma and sensorineural hearing loss.
Schofield et al., Sydney, Australia. In Genes Chromosomes Cancer, 2001
The SDHD region contains another gene, DPP2/TIMM8B, the homolog of which causes dystonia and deafness seen in Mohr-Tranebjaerg syndrome.

Mechanism of action of the Rep protein from the Dictyostelium Ddp2 plasmid family.
Welker et al., Dallas, United States. In Plasmid, 1999
The two-hybrid system was used to show that the Rep proteins from three members of the Dictyostelium discoideum Ddp2 plasmid family, Ddp2, Ddp5, and Ddp6, form homomultimers but not heteromultimers when expressed in yeast cells.
