SH3-domain kinase binding protein 1

CIN85, Cbl-interacting protein of 85 kDa, SH3KBP1
This gene encodes an adapter protein that contains three N-terminal Src homology domains, a proline rich region and a C-terminal coiled-coil domain. The encoded protein facilitates protein-protein interactions and has been implicated in numerous cellular processes including apoptosis, cytoskeletal rearrangement, cell adhesion and in the regulation of clathrin-dependent endocytosis. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, May 2010] (from NCBI)

Hepatitis C virus NS5A protein blocks epidermal growth factor receptor degradation via a proline motif- dependent interaction.
Harris et al., Helsinki, Finland. In J Gen Virol, Aug 2015
We further demonstrated that the P2 motif was required for an interaction between NS5A and CMS, a homologue of CIN85 that has previously been implicated in EGFR endocytosis.
CIN85 modulates TGFβ signaling by promoting the presentation of TGFβ receptors on the cell surface.
Heldin et al., Uppsala, Sweden. In J Cell Biol, Aug 2015
We report here that TβRI interacts with the SH3 domains of the adaptor protein CIN85 in response to TGFβ stimulation in a TRAF6-dependent manner.
