Centromere protein P

CENPP is a subunit of a CENPH (MIM 605607)-CENPI (MIM 300065)-associated centromeric complex that targets CENPA (MIM 117139) to centromeres and is required for proper kinetochore function and mitotic progression (Okada et al., 2006 [PubMed 16622420]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008] (from NCBI)

Papers on CENP-P
Chromosome congression is promoted by CENP-Q- and CENP-E-dependent pathways.
McAinsh et al., Coventry, United Kingdom. In J Cell Sci, 2015
Here, we show that CENP-Q - a subunit of the CENP-O complex (comprising CENP-O, CENP-P, CENP-Q and CENP-U) that targets polo-like kinase (Plk1) to kinetochores - is also required for the recruitment of CENP-E to kinetochores.
The CENP-O complex requirement varies among different cell types.
Fukagawa et al., Mishima, Japan. In Chromosome Res, 2014
CENP-U (CENP-50) is a component of the CENP-O complex, which includes CENP-O, CENP-P, CENP-Q, CENP-R, and CENP-U and is constitutively localized at kinetochores throughout the cell cycle in vertebrates.
New centromere autoantigens identified in systemic sclerosis using centromere protein microarrays.
Wu et al., Beijing, China. In J Rheumatol, 2013
Of them, 5 [CENP-P, CENP-Q, CENP-M (isoform I), CENP-J, and CENP-T] are novel, among which CENP-P and CENP-Q showed high sensitivities in ACA-positive SSc sera of 34.3% and 28.6%, respectively.
Step-wise assembly, maturation and dynamic behavior of the human CENP-P/O/R/Q/U kinetochore sub-complex.
Diekmann et al., Jena, Germany. In Plos One, 2011
The initial step occurs during interphase and involves loading of the 15-subunit constitutive centromere associated complex (CCAN), which contains a 5-subunit (CENP-P/O/R/Q/U) sub-complex.
The ABCs of CENPs.
Fukagawa et al., Mishima, Japan. In Chromosoma, 2011
Onto centromeric CENP-A chromatin is assembled the so-called constitutive centromere-associated network (CCAN) of 16 proteins distributed in several functional groups as follows: CENP-C, CENP-H/CENP-I/CENP-K/, CENP-L/CENP-M/CENP-N, CENP-O/CENP-P/CENP-Q/CENP-R/CENP-U(50), CENP-T/CENP-W, and CENP-S/CENP-X.

Cleveland et al., San Diego, United States. In Nat Cell Biol, 2006
Seven new CENP-A-nucleosome distal (CAD) centromere components (CENP-K, CENP-L, CENP-O, CENP-P, CENP-Q, CENP-R and CENP-S) are identified as assembling on the CENP-A NAC.
