Here we generated fibrin-based mini EHT from a transgenic mouse line (Cdh5-CreERT2 x Rosa26-LacZ) in which EC were specifically and inducible labelled by applying tamoxifen (EC<sup>iLacZ</sup>). EHT were generated from an unpurified cell mix of new-born mouse hearts and were cultured under standard, serum-containing conditions.

We demonstrate a variety of applications of stimulated emission microscopy, such as visualizing chromoproteins, non-fluorescent variants of the green fluorescent protein, monitoring lacZ gene expression with a chromogenic reporter, mapping transdermal drug distributions without histological sectioning, and label-free microvascular imaging based on endogenous contrast of haemoglobin.

We found that excessive calorie intake led to the accumulation of oxidative stress in the adipose tissue of mice with type 2 diabetes-like disease and promoted senescence-like changes, such as increased activity of senescence-associated beta-galactosidase, increased expression of p53 and increased production of proinflammatory cytokines.
