σ Bond activation through tunneling: formation of the boron hydride cations BHn(+) (n = 2, 4, 6).Agarwal et al., Athens, United States. In Phys Chem Chem Phys, Feb 2016
After using theoretical results to remove tunneling effects from the experimental rate constants, new Arrhenius fits yield activation barriers of 4.6(3) kcal mol(-1) and 3.8(1) kcal mol(-1) for the BH6(+) and BD6(+) insertion reactions, respectively, which are in near perfect agreement with converged theoretical values (4.6 kcal mol(-1) and 3.9 kcal mol(-1)).
Genomic alterations on 8p21-p23 are the most frequent genetic events in stage I squamous cell carcinoma of the lung.Kang, Ch'ŏnan, South Korea. In Exp Ther Med, Feb 2015
This region contains the following possible target genes, which have previously not been implicated to play a pathogenic role in stage I SCCs: MSRA, MFHAS1, CLDN23, DEFB106A, DEFB105A, LOC441316, FAM90A7P and LOC441318.
Novel polyamine analogues: from substrates towards potential inhibitors of monoamine oxidases.Di Paolo et al., Padova, Italy. In Eur J Med Chem, 2012
New polyamine derivatives 1-8, related to the previously reported N(1),N(12)-dibenzyldodecane-1,12-diamine (Bis-Bza-Diado) and N(1)-benzyl-spermine (BD6), have been synthesized and used as "probes" (potential substrates or inhibitors) of the human monoamine oxidases (MAO A and MAO B) and Vascular-Adhesion-protein -1 (VAP-1).
Alterations in gene expression in the caput epididymides of nonobstructive azoospermic men.Cyr et al., Québec, Canada. In Biol Reprod, 2008
Differentially regulated genes included several encoding proteins involved in spermatozoal maturation, water and ion channels, and beta-defensins: CRISP1, SPINLW1, FAM12B, and DEFB129 were upregulated, whereas CFTR, AQP5, KCNK4, KCNK17, SLC6A20, SLC13A3, DEFB126, and DEFB106A were downregulated.
Prevalence and mechanisms of decreased susceptibility to carbapenems in Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates.Lee et al., Suwŏn, South Korea. In Diagn Microbiol Infect Dis, 2007
Three isolates (BD6, BD8, and KN16) exhibited decreased susceptibility to carbapenems with imipenem MICs of 1, 4, and 8 microg/mL and meropenem MICs of 4, 8, and 4, respectively.
