show (1) TSCytb's reduced spectra have a split a-band at already low ascorbate concentrations (at already high potential levels), and (2) it has two heme b redox centers, both with positive redox potentials, that differ by about 100 mV from each other
The protein exhibits the characteristics typical of members of the cytochrome b561 family, being a hydrophobic, transmembrane heme protein. It is capable of oxidation-reduction reaction and is a candidate tumor suppressor gene product.
